(This poem was written in early 2012, following a profound spiritual experience (see my novel for more on this).)
The sky is cast into darkness; The storm clouds gather. But my love doesn’t leave me; She takes me into her embrace, And, flying on rapturous wings, We spiral up into the air. Passing through the vapour, I close my eyes, my heart full to bursting. The blast of lightning doesn’t fade me; The clap of thunder doesn’t startle. Ever ascending, we break through to the light.
